Art on the Air with Axelle Kieffer and Jordan Fitch Mooney
Tuesday Oct 15, 2019
Tuesday Oct 15, 2019
This week on Art on the Air on WRUU – 107.5 FM Savannah we were joined in studio by Axelle Kieffer and Jordan Mooney! They gave us all of the details on their exhibition at Sulfur Studios, “Danse Macabre.”
From the press release:
“The danse macabre, a theme born out of the religious and political forces of Late Middle Ages, echoes across the centuries into our modern era. Death comes for All, with no consideration for station or status.
“We were what you are, and you will be what we are.”
“Today the figure of death as a corpse or skeleton is no longer solely associated with religious works, but its use maintains an extended dialogue with the images that have come before. Each century creates its own danse macabre to exorcise its own fears. This imagery filters through the works of Axelle Kieffer and Jordan Fitch Mooney; using these sources to examine our time, speaking to the artistic dialogue while also grappling with their personal experiences.”
PLUS, we broadcast our Field Notes with Leslie Lovell over at Roots Up Gallery talking all about their New Works Art Show AND our chat with Lizzy Taber, the current On::View Artist in Residence!

Art on the Air with Jerome Meadows
Tuesday Oct 15, 2019
Tuesday Oct 15, 2019
“Art exists as a causeway between the objective and the subjective; a provocative link between our factual understanding and our fanciful interpretations; a spiritual bridge between life’s day-to-day demands and the sustaining power of ritual and myth. Art transports us from the comparatively limited domain of our mundane obligations into a never-expanding realm of engaging possibilities – informing, inspiring andelevating us all.” -Jerome Meadows

We pop on over to a local coffee shop to sit down with illustrator Kristen Haffke to get all of the details on the book project she’s just completed work for, a lovely children’s story called “Willow & Oliver in The Case of the Missing Sock,” produced in collaboration with NYT best-selling author of ‘Pete the Cat’ Kim Dean!
And we catch up with Kevin Clancy at their new project space “The Hen House!”
