Wednesday May 20, 2020
Wednesday May 20, 2020
Two great interviews on this week's episode of Art on the Air on WRUU - 107.5 FM Savannah!
First we spoke with Samita Tcb Wolfe of Film Biz Recycling about the history of her non-profit prop house and how the community came together to help save it.
Then, in perhaps our most powerful interview ever, Lisa Rosenmeier Kyriakos talked about the state of the art scene in our community and her role as "canary in a coal mine" in being the first to reopen her gallery space down at Savannah City Market.
Seriously folks:
Do. Not. Miss. It!

Art on the Air presents Sheb Wooley... Ahem... David Laughlin
Sunday Apr 19, 2020
Sunday Apr 19, 2020
Art on the Air is pleased to present a special interview with internationally-known multidisciplinary artist Sheb Wooley!
From his bio:
"Sheb Wooley primarily works in the medium of raw materials from a classical standpoint, bringing lofty aesthetics to earth by engaging urbanistic methodologies. Making a statement of the environment with tools of the world by cultivating transparent mappings.
His recent work, in his hometown of Ludowici, Georgia, was titled “Cream for a Day”, an interactive installation where visitors driving through would experience, in textures, smells, and screen projections, becoming a cake. From primary materials, through the baking process, and completing the journey with a light, fluffy icing made with the natural elements from the area.
Mr. Wooley’s next project on the horizon is named “Mudder”, set to be in Savannah, Georgia, downtown at Forsyth Park, and will be a humble tribute to the roots of the lowcountry region with a medium of modern days. His creations have appeared in municipalities throughout the world, in remote settings, and have gained critical recognition and acclaim."

Art on the Air with Angela Burson and José Ray
Tuesday Oct 22, 2019
Tuesday Oct 22, 2019
We're excited to invite Angela Burson into the studio for this week's episode of Art on the Air!
We spoke about her upcoming exhibition Peep Show, "a solo show displaying the artists’ fondness for anachronistic images of fashion and objects. Her interest in the surreal connection between realistic subject matter and flat repetitive pattern brings a personal environment that makes mid-century modern simultaneously charming and a little bit naughty." (from Location Gallery)
PLUS, we broadcast our Field Note with José Ray all about his exhibition Flora: a collection of large scale mixed media works by José Ray!
AND we check in with our good friend David Laughlin down at City Market!
Art for your ears!
