Art on the Air October 27th, 2021 with the Artists of 4 Top (Still Standing)

Back in 2008, artists Katherine Agurcia, Lee Ashburn, Tamara Garvey, and Matt Hebermehl, all servers at The Lady and Sons, decided to put on an art show.

 

13 Years later, the group is getting back together for an exhibition at Sulfur Studios!

 

Join us as we discuss "4 Top (Still Standing)" with all four creatives, delving into how they all met, what those days of yore meant to them, and why it was time to show together once more.

And we had a conversation with writer Nicole Rivas concerning her transition from poetry to flash fiction and non-fiction, and what role running plays in her compositions.

Art on the Air Presents Shelley Smith Talking Saints & Sinners

On this week's episode of Art on the Air, we're excited to welcome Shelley Smith back onto the show to talk all about her latest project, "Saints & Sinners," a series of 120 oyster shell portraits that she'll be showing at Hospice Savannah's Summer Nights Party on Friday, September 24th 2021 from 6-9pm at Soho South Cafe!

Smith began the series shortly after a car accident left her temporarily unable to do the metal work for which she'd become known. Exploring the many personalities of Savannah, from well known folks like Jessica Lebos, Katherine Sandoz, and Mayor Van Johnson, to ordinary saints like her favorite post office worker, the affable artist not only found an alternative creative outlet, but a way to feel connected to her community during a time when in-person meetings were difficult.
